A Simple Reminder About Procrastination

At some point or another, most everyone does it. We keep putting off that one thing, or things, until the last minute…if we even get to them at all. Typically it happens with work (academic or otherwise), but sometimes it stretches to the everyday parts of our lives. Either way, procrastination is the thief of time, and thus something we could all stand to get rid of.

But I’m not going to tell you how to do that. There are already enough blog posts, articles, and videos throughout the internet that I simply don’t feel the need to add another. (If that’s something you’re interested in, simply Google “how to avoid procrastination” and you’ll have thousands of search results to choose from…don’t procrastinate about this.) Instead, I’m just going to point something out (and you may already know this, but it’s worth repeating).

You know all those aspirations you have? You know the things you want to accomplish that sound so unrealistic that you refuse to tell anybody? Do you know that one thing you just know you have to achieve before you die? Or what about the smaller goals you have, like maybe spending more time with your family. Think about all of that. And let me remind you of this: every second you procrastinate about anything, is another second that could have been spent on reaching your goals. It’s a second that you’ll never get back. A second that leads you closer to death. It’s a wasted second, an absolute waste of time…and life.

I could write more, but I think you get the gist.

Procrastination is the thief of time. What you do with your time determines your future. Don’t let procrastination steal yours.

Until next time.
